As an expert in Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Andy Edmonds makes use of his background in cognitive psychology to understand internet users and their behaviour in the internet, their direct interaction with websites and their profiles and preferences.
By studying user behaviour in connection to website usability, he is able to maximize the use of search technology by manipulating search rules not only to generate more traffic but also to improve the internet user’s website experience. Andy Edmonds’ strength lies in his ability to analyse a site’s metrics to obtain valuable information about users, volume, age group, gender, location, targets, etc.
Aside from research and data collection, Andy Edmonds takes advantage of usability testing, mouse and eye tracking and interpretation to help clients understand how internet users interact with their websites to improve user experience which may ultimately lead to more internet traffic and site stickiness.
Andy Edmonds was a webmaster from 1996 to 1999 before becoming a macromedia instructor who applied cognitive psychology in his methods.He holds a degree from Carnegie Mellon University and Georgia Institute of Technology and until recently, he was the head of Microsoft’s MSN Live Search Team.
