2009 is the second year the team at Right Selection has assembled some of the top internet marketing speakers in the world to share the opportunities for people to make money on the internet with the people of Dubai.
Perhaps one of the biggest hurdles that the population here has is a painfully slow internet connection – but at 5.30 am, when I am typing this – it’s great!
Day One began with a welcome by the team behind Unlimited Power Online, Gautaum and Ernesto – who explained to the audience the untapped potential for internet marketing. It quickly became obvious that many of the audience were already studying with Ernesto Verdugo, which raised the question of how interested they would be in the programs offered by other speakers.
MC for the event is Dave Crane, a vibrant and engaging former-DJ who did a great job in setting the stage for an exciting weekend of learning to earn online. A gifted Stage Hypnotist, Dave is one of the most recognized faces in the UAE.
Newcomer to the speaking scene was Ciaran Doyle, a young Irish entrepreneur who was generous in sharing his tips on generating massive traffic in short time. Throughout his no-pitch session he bounced around the stage, spreading his enthusiasm, and getting the audience ‘in the zone’ for more quality learning from the various speakers.
Americans Jimmy Vee and Travis Miller are best-selling authors, entrepreneurs and marketing maniacs, and when they took the stage they commanded EVERYONE’S attention. They were loud and engaging, and delivered a polished presentation on how to combine the power of social media and online video to attract customers, build relationships. They say that social media is ideal for getting ahead in business and putting money in your pocket – FAST!.
Their presentation was entitled (a mouthful) – “Maximum Wake Zone: How To Make Waves, Get Noticed and Accelerate Your Success Using Online Video & Social Media” discussed how to leverage the power of social media (like Twitter and Facebook) to attract customers.
UKs Simon Coulson took to the stage in the afternoon and delivered a presentation that focussed largely on how to make money by publishing ebooks on topics that you don’t have to know anything about – e.g. buying real estate in a country that you’ve never visited (this is how he made his first internet marketing money). While many wouldn’t consider this ‘ethical’, it worked for him and it was an easy way, at the time, for him to start out.
He offered a package to the audience that included video recordings of a 3 Day Workshop, ‘Unlimited’ Support Package – from his ‘Faculty’, i.e. not from Simon himself, but ‘experts’ on his team, Access to his ‘Library’; Monthly training updates; Custom Software tools, and hosting of 20 websites (which he valued at GBP1200, an interesting figure when a reseller account with Hostgator gets you unlimited domain hosting for USD25 per month!).
Simon’s package proved very popular with an audience hoping to find a push-button way to make money online.
His presentation itself was much like one I saw him deliver in the UK in September, but with new slides and features that were unquestionably similar to those of another presenters at the same event – such ‘modelling’ appears to becoming commonplace in the industry.
